There is not much to put in this section other than "thoughts on paper".
Then we need to address the drainage of the land. We will need to work our way down each stream, removing the larger stones and other obstructions to improve water flow and hence land drainage. We also need to mend the various flow control measures that have fallen into disrepair such as the initial weir (barrage) and sluice gate (porte d'écluse) directing the water down the leet to the mill pond, and the weir and sluice gates (see below) that are downstream of the mill.
Hopefully, many of these tasks can be made into fun jobs for the working parties made up from friends and organised by Katy & Alan or Jonathan & Andrew. Keith's really looking forwarded to playing the "civil engineer" with this lot!!! [Top of Page] [Home] [The Waterwheel]
